Spent approximately an hour digging a snowpit, discussing snowpack layering, and eating luch with 6 students. Afterward, as we were filling the pit back in we experienced a large collapse that covered the entire ~75m wide meadow and shook small aspen trees around the edges. Possible trigger was a student skinning across a thin spot to go to the bathroom in neaby trees.

E aspect BTL, HS 140cm, progressive 4f - P hard midpack above 50cms of 4f facets to the ground. 3mm+ DH at the bottom. ECTP 21 failed on the DH.
