Quick report
Our pockets of soft snow have been changing. With the recent green-housing, what was great facet pow has become sparse. It has either turned into very small pockets of good turns, has gained a bit of a soft crust on top and is breakable, or when found in sheltered areas can be unsupportable above various underlying obstacles. You can still find edge-able wind-board, making those larger objectives quite appealing. Lower in elevation any snow not tilted away from the sun was wetting by noon. If you ventured into steep, solar terrain, the baby penetinte never quite softened due to a cold breeze from the SW. Sheltered solars were more favorable for that soft skiing at the right time of day. Creeks are starting to open up more places and might start making crossings more challenging with continued warming next week. No signs of instability noted.

- Temps hovering just below freezing up high kept things favorable throughout the day. - Light NE winds in the morning. - Warming around 8k was notable mid-day and softening the crusts that have been building. - We noted light but cold SW winds in the afternoon.
Snowpack
- Poked in the snow at 9,792 on a NNE aspect. Height of snow was 100cm and I found 12cm of solid wind-board sitting above some softer <1mm facets. No signs of instability noted throughout the day. Hard hand sheer in the wind-board with planar bottom of density change. - Some some impressive 3-4cm surface hoar near creeks in very sheltered areas around 8k. These are starting to bake together into a crust. - 1-2mm surface facets roughly 30cm deep in sheltered, N trees at 9ft
