A group from the Alaska Avalanche School toured up Valley of Sin on Monday to assess conditions after the strong winds of 4/13. We found isolated pockets of wind slab on W, N and NW aspects, along with some shooting cracks (1-3feet). We skied Women’s Run and found conditions to be variable, a 2inch crust made for mostly subpar skiing, but soft turns were found in the wind deposited areas, including on the N side of 4068
