Quick report

We toured up the Robinson Creek drainage to the base of the Little Slide canyon to check out current snow coverage after last week's rain event.

Snow was patchy for first mile and required carrying skis off and on. Further up the drainage coverage was more consistent but thin, isothermic and unsupportable. South facing terrain is now unusable in this area. Approaches to Little Slide, Blacksmith, and Horse Creek drainages were holding thin, unsupportable snow at low elevations. There was evidence of wet-loose debris on all aspects from last week, size D1 to 2.5.

As we returned in early afternoon, light rain showers began, temps cooled and winds increased.  The very top of Matterhorn appeared to have snow stuck to it from last week's storm.
