After a quick jaunt up to the Leavitt Meadows Pack Station, we went for a ski tour to assess snow conditions. We found humid conditions in the trees, and wet snow over a crust. As we gained elevation, we found softer snow and temperatures began to drop. We experienced cracking in snow that had fallen in the last 48 hours, near 8000' in wind protected NE terrain. We noted propagation, and were able to initiate small storm slabs on test slopes. After digging, we found the failure was on a crust formed prior to last Sunday's storm.
We dug on a N facing aspect at 8800' and noted multiple crusts in the upper 140 cm of the snowpack. We got CTM @25 cm, ECTN 16 @25cm. This was an interface of new snow in the last 48 hours, and a crust. We saw two other distinct crusts throughout the upper 140 cm, but did not find them reactive in our pit location.
On our descent, we were able to ski cut some test slopes and initiate small wet loose slides on an E aspect, BTL 7500'.
Triggered two very small wet loose slides on test slopes (steep convex rollovers), E facing below 8000'; observed numerous avalanches from a distance, more info needed; cracking in the layers of new snow and propagation on E facing slope near 8000'.Weather

There were on and off snow showers and fluctuating temperatures throughout the day. Ultimately, winds picked up as the day went on and intense blowing snow was observed near end of day in NTL and ATL terrain.
