Quick report

Went out to see what the snow on the ground look like before it (hopefully) gets buried. Very shallow snowpack all the way around, but pretty much nothing on southern aspects. I dug a "pit" on a northern aspect around 6700 feet. There was about 40cm total snow on the ground, which was nothing more than a 3 layer cake of facets and crusts capped with some sizable hoar frost. I did a quick shovel tilt test, which failed on the facets above the middle crust, at about 25cm from the ground with a clean shear plane after only 4 taps, indicating a very poor bond. NOTE: Map location is approximate.
