Warm day with periods of sun that softened the rain crust with temperatures hitting the upper 30s. By 3pm temperatures at the trailhead hit the low 40s.
Snowpack
Western aspects held up to 70cm (2.5 ft) of snow. SE-SW aspects held less than 30cm (1 ft). The rain had a significant effect on snow up to 8500' everywhere I traveled. Runnels were visible up to about 8,200'.
A pit on a west aspect at 8500' returned unstable snowpack test scores (ECTP6) on the 12/5 weak layer of facets ~ 40cm down.
