Quick report

Approximately 8” of new snow since Sunday afternoon was observed at 7200’ . While on our tour we experienced light to moderate south winds and temperatures in the upper teens. At the start of our tour it was partly sunny. However, it quickly became cloudy and started snowing. By mid afternoon it had snowed about 2” . Recent new snow accompanied by moderate wind and sensitive windslabs on leeward terrain was all the information we needed to keep us off of, and out from under, avalanche terrain. Our overall impression of stability was poor.

Avalanche

Easily triggerable 3”- 4” soft windslabs on several steep north and northeast facing terrain features.
