The depth of snow pack along the ridge varies considerably due to wind transport. While SK Study Plot has 17" - snow depths up to 50 inches were measured in some locations due to wind transport. Several natural avalanches were observed sized D1 with crowns of 12-18 inches. Ski cutting produced widespread cracking and collapsing. A few size D1 avalanches were intentionally triggered one with an 18" crown and propagated about 60 feet wide. 9 inches of new snow recorded with 0.7 inches of swe at Snow King Study Plot as of 9am this morning.
