- <p>While the Provo mountains are not expected to see forecasted amounts of areas further north, even a foot of snow with wind should make the high shady terrain sensitive, as it bonds quite poorly to the weak faceted snow. With rapid loading, natural activity and remote triggering seem likely. </p>

Snowpack
Provo mountains picked up roughly 6 inches in last weekend storm compared to 12 to 16 inches in the Central Wasatch and areas north. Faceting is the name of the game above about 9500 feet where there is decent coverage (est. 4-10"+ on the northeast, north, and northwest facing slopes. Off aspects hold thin mf crusts or bare ground.
