Quick report
15 to 20 cm of Cascade concrete was not bonding well to the storm interface, producing clean shears in pits and thin storm slabs on steep rollovers. Where we traveled below 10,700', I didn’t find evidence that the December dryspell layer had woken up yet; it’s about 35 cm deep under a F+ slab; ECTN results and no signs of instability under foot.

Warm, wet snowfall this morning, a few heavy pulses (S3 to S5). Partial clearing by 11:30 and snowfall mostly ended after that. I could see light drifting from NW winds in the alpine, no blowing snow below treeline.

Ski cut a few small storm slabs on steep rollovers near the top of 3rd Bowl. Heard a larger natural avalanche come down the east face of Gothic around 11:00 a.m.
