This large avalanche was a natural and was most likely triggered by a natural cornice drop. The crown was up to 6 ft deep and averaged around 3 to 4 feet deep, it was at least a 1000ft wide and took out a large portion of the bowl. It ran well out onto the flats at the bottom of the slope. It appears to have run on the old PWL from early December seeing that it ran at the ground interface and left mostly rocks, dirt and bushes in the bed surface. My best guess on timing would be during the night or early this morning due to the amount of snow blown into the bed surface, but not sure.
