Quick report
Long johns were off by 0600. A new record? Toured around Galena Peak, skied N, NE and SW aspects. Weak freeze seemed to hold up with the wind overnight better than I had expected. Supportable and highly edgable MF crust overlying moist snow on all aspects low-mid elev until ~10am. High elevation, especially high northerly, was more of a mixed bag: some dry snow, some chalky, lots of MF crust overlying dry snow. Southerlies started to soften up around 10:30 at upper elevation. Bring on spring!
Avalanche
Many loose wet avalanches from yesterday observed at upper elevations on slopes with both eastern and western exposure.
