Quick report
Short tour from 1700-1830 in the late afternoon, 15-30cm of storm snow in shaded areas, 3cm sun crust within storm snow on solar aspects. Overcast cloud cover, little evidence that the sun had stayed out for long during the day. Ridge-top winds were moderate, with obvious wind loading. Triggered a few small dry loose avalanches in steeper terrain. No cracking was seen except for small storm slabs in rocky areas that had wind effect. Graupel had begun to fall at a moderate pace when I exited the field.
