- <p>Perhaps difficult to extrapolate with varying degrees of storm snow and wind loading. Pockets of Moderate to Moderate I'd imagine in areas with more weather effects. Persistent slab tests found more of an interface within the storm snow than at the new/old (facets) interface. Would imagine that absent wind, stability would be on the increase. </p> <p>Mid/low elevation cold shady terrain will be ripe for continued facet sluffing with high pressure.</p>
Blown away by how little storm snow there was up to 9000' in the north fork near Ben Lomond. 26" storm totals at Snowbasin and 16-18" at Powder Mountain through Saturday is not mirrored in terrain north of Ben Lomond. Total snow depths were 100-140cm. Minor slab development high along the exposed sub-ridges, but otherwise very little 'load' to activate the early January facets. Excellent skiing.
