Took a trip up the Elkevator to check on the storm's progress (on Thursday). We found snowfall at 400 m, skiable/sleddable coverage just above, then 10-15 cm of new snow on the crust from about 700 m to our 1450 m high point. The new snow was lightly redistributed from ridgetops to immediate leeward pockets. Ski cutting said pockets yielded small (smaller than size 1) releases with short, downward propagating cracks but running loose. Low angled slopes were just the thing for avoiding the buried crust. It also snowed about 1 cm per hour all day. Active hauling from 1.5 km on the Elk Mountain Main remains ongoing.
