Goldminers was a disappointing mix of wind scour, sun bake, and pockets of powder. Lower down the snow was almost mashed potato like. It was a strange mix of conditions. The top is VERY thin and no matter where I skied I hit rocks just lurking under the snowpack. I now have nice new scratches on my nice new skis. I also had an impending sense of doom with the snow pack and felt paranoid the whole slope would rip. I'm not sure why I felt that. However, that forced me over to the skiers right shoulder and "safer" line near the trees. There were no tracks in or out of Gold Basin and the ski out was OK, but the snow was heavy and cratered with tree snow bombs. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Goldminers right now.
