Glory & the Claw

Walked up Glory to see differences in wind transport between middle and upper elevations; small avalanches were easily triggerable the entire ski down, and will grow in size with incoming snowfall tomorrow. Temperatures will warm with incoming snowfall, making for a second round of upside-down conditions and storm slabs. However, my primary avoidance today was wind-affected snowfall—protected areas held less cracking and cohesive snow (and great skiing). 

Touring towards the Claw to check out the recent reported large avalanche, but walked out a bit too late in the day and much of it was blowing in already. From what I could see, this avalanche was primarily new snowfall cumulative from the past ~2 weeks, likely running on weak snow from early February. I'm still curious to confirm if it ran on deeper, weak snow. Hazard will increase tomorrow as more incoming snowfall favors the Greys and Tetons. I'm leery of anything above or near treeline seeing wind currently, and moving into tomorrow.
