Quick report

Cracking
specific

We travelled into the sandbox area of gulf of slides and dug a pit at 4400ft on a SE aspect in a sheltered area with 200cm of snow. On the way, we saw cracking under our skis on the thinner surface windslab. Main gully appeared to have a larger windslab under the ice bulge and so we decided to go to the sandbox. When digging in a protected pocket in the sandbox, we found CTE on the surface windslab and Im not sure if our process/recording for the ECT was entirely SWAG- But we saw 2 upper layers fracture and not propagate- ECTN3 down ~8cm and ECTN13 down ~25cm (they did pull off together cleanly after subsequent hits), and a lower layer did propagate during the same test- ECTP15 down ~55cm. Interesting reactive results and lots of spacial variability in our area. Check out the linked instagram video if my written results are confusing :)
