Observation: Reynolds Peak

Snow stability was good. We where looking to see if there was anything weird about the crust that exists in some places before the recent storm snow. It looked good to us. Overall snow is consolidating into a nice base.

Beautiful clear day. We noted good coverage at mid and upper elevations. Snow quality has remained great and light on shaded slopes. The snowpack has consolidated a good bit from the last couple days and makes for fun confidence inspiring snow that makes it harder to target the rocks.

Over the last couple days I have found a snowpack over a meter deep in sheltered north facing areas but when you turn the compass in other directions a bit a shallower snowpack can be found. We noted a 70cm snowpack on E and could see it to be shallow on south facing slopes as well with bushes sticking out.

We noted surface hoar developing on one area on top of a crust but a lot of the surface is still dendrites. We did not note anything glaringly weak in the snowpack as of yet.

Cool slopes still have light pow, many slopes E-S-W have a zipper crust that varies from mild to difficult to ski.
