Quick report

Aspect
Northeast
Elevation
2499 m

Weak sugary snow extends down to, conservatively, 7500 feet in elevation on northerly facing aspects. The snow profile shows about 80 cm of total depth with half of that being weak sugary facets above the holiday crusts

The price of admission is high, but for what? Unsurprisingly I saw zero other people out except for at the trailhead. One old codger asked me if I was able to make any turns and I paused and thought and shook my head no. Still, those that are stoic, penitent, or both can find decent travel above 8000 feet and make turns in recrystallized snow.

Snowpack

Pick your poison – it’s either bare dirt or what would be bottomless facets to the ground except for the holiday crust. At least you’re sandboxing in the recrystallized snow. Photos of access to Bob’s, below

Travel was to the lower Primrose overlook at the top of Bob’s
