Red Flags Comment

We backed off our original objective because of lack of visibility and strong winds. We did not note any wind-drifted snow avalanches up to 9000'. Above 9000' was a different story as the winds were actively loading slopes on north-east aspects. Upon approach we had observed several avalanches that came near the road off the north facing burn area above the narrows. We saw one large avalanche that put debris and trees onto and across the road and South Willow Creek. The debris pile was 25' deep and 100' wide across the road. There was approximately a foot of new snow on top of the debris pile.
