Quick report

Skied the south face of McCausland. Before dropping skied a test slope around 4800 and noted no signs of instability. Felt the snowpack get drier as I went up and the bond between the crust and the snowI guess got worse. Dropped into McCausland's south face and as i ski cut the first convext rollover a sluff started. It entrained much more snow than I was expecting. As I came down, I ski cut 3 more convex rollovers that alll also started this type of slide, which were each moving slowly enough that I was able to ski out. Definitely a bit scarier than I would have liked, especially being out solo.

Avalanche

Triggered 4 wet loose avalanches, new snow of about 6" running on a firm crust. These avalanches were slow moving but ran for a few hundred feet and could easily knock you off your feet or bury you in a terrain trap.
