Thanks to the Mt Hood Meadows Pro Patrol for the lift bump.
We got above the rain crust at approximately 6500 ft. Above this, we found dry but variable travel due to recent high winds. We found wind-loaded pockets in upper heather canyon to be stubborn trending towards unreactive. We received some isolated cracking, but ski cuts produced no results.
A test profile in Heather Canyon at 6600 ft NE aspect we found a HS of 210 cm and observed a strong snowpack structure below the 12/26 rain crust. The 12/26 rain crust does have some weak snow associated with it that we'll be watching as weather systems continue to brush through the region.
On our ski out we found the rain crust to be ski supportable below 6500 ft.
