Quick report
We toured up N-E aspects below and near treeline. The snow was generally right side up with a crust about 10 cm from the surface. NE aspects had rounding snow and NW aspects were faceting on the surface. We observed roller balls on N aspects around 8200 ft. East aspects around 8800 ft held icier, thin snow. Conditions were above freezing and calm below treeline with a moderate wind from the SW at treeline on the ridge. From the ridge, we observed snow transport down the N ridge of Elephants Back and crowns on the NE face of Round Top. Skiing down the N aspects of Elephants Hump was pleasant, with adequate coverage and soft snow. More easterly aspects held heavier snow.
