Quick report
Two skiers skinned west along the ridge above Echo Lake from the Echo Lake Sno Park toward Becker Peak. As they approached Becker Peak, the sun came out and began to rapidly warm the steep northeast face. At 12:05 PM Skier 1 descended northeast from the top of Becker Peak and triggered a shallow windslab that accumulated new wet snow that had been warming in the sun. The slide was somewhat slow to get moving as the snow was wet and dense. This allowed Skier 1 to easily ski out of the path of the avalanche into an area of relative safety. Skier 1 then radioed to Skier 2 who was watching the slide from above. Skier 2 was able to descend the bed surface to rejoin Skier 1.
