Quick report

Collapsing
Observed

Dug a pit on a NE facing slope at 6,300ft on Freeman Peak Ascent. Column compression test showed repeated moderate collapses at a depth of ~35 & 55cm below a weak graupel layer. On top of the graupel was ~30cm of fresh light snow. Winter corner showed signs of wind loading at both low and high elevations. A firm rain crust observed on NW slopes. At Winter Corner peak, 6,700ft, there were no signs of the weak graupel later 30-60cm that we observed on the Freeman Peak Ascent pit.
