AIARE 1 course observations: Around Grandma's house in the Bailey lake basin, Informal had shear observations showed generally good bonding to mid-week crust. Though we did get some variability with a hand shear test that sheared above the crust on a soft slab later in the day. Compression test result: CTH21 25cm down Q3. Lt. snow showers lingered into the afternoon longer than we expected with less sun breaks as well. Hardness observations showed rightside up snowpack. Snowpack overall seems stable. Observing skiers higher on SE aspects >35 degree slopes of Mt. Herman we didn't see anything other than some loose sluff.
