In the morning skin up the south trending ridge we observed generally stable conditions, with about 4” of new snow on top of a solar melt/freeze crust. After skiing a stable and unconsolidated (one small dry loose observed) north aspect, we arrived back at the summit to strong winds out of the WNW. As we made our way down our original up track we observed rapidly building wind slab, shooting cracks, and had one small pocket at the base of a cliff pull out, described above.

Skier triggered small wind pocket on the SSE side of Mt McCausland, ~5600ft, D 0.5, 5-6 inch crown about 10 ft across, not entraining— all new storm snow on top of melt/freeze crust
