Weather

Blowing snow and wind throughout the day. We noted up to a meter of fresh wind blown snow on the slope we were ascending.

Snowpack

The snowpack about 3 ft deep with lots of fresh wind deposits and new snow.

Avalanche

The avalanche occurred on a North facing slope of about 35 - 40 degrees. It was remote triggered from about 500 ft away and started small, then stepped down to the ground and the entire slope slid. It was probably about 300 ft wide at the top, with a small crown. It slid for about 1500 ft past 2 separate flat areas / benches and into another gully further down.
