Quick report
We did an ECT on a due East slope at about 5700'. We dug 120cm deep. The "compression test" of the ECT had a Q3 break at 22 about 35cm down still within the storm snow. Had a sudden collapse at 27 about 80cm deep with the persistent facet layer below the crust. Neither propagated.
Avalanche
At about 6400' East slope of Crystal Bowla, we cut a medium sized cornice, which easily triggered a D1 storm slab avalanche less than 1 foot deep. The first skier started testing the slope staying very close to the ridgeline and the crust left by the first avalanche. When approaching slightly toward a micro-northern aspect of a small chute, a D1.5 storm slab avalanche above the crust was triggered close to rocks, a little over 1 ft deep.
