Snow was on and off throughout the day always less than 1 cm/hr. Mostly full cloudy skies while we were there (arrive 9, left 2 PM) with a few moments of small patches of sunshine. Hand shear on a WNW aspect at 4600' resulted in failure during isolation about 35 cm down on new snow from overnight. Hand shear below that failed on crust from before the storm with light pressure. Occasional whoomphing heard throughout the day as well as small sections of soft slab sliding on cutting switchbacks. Snow that had fallen overnight seemed to be getting denser by noon as it settled from slight warming. Wind throughout the day changed directions but seemed always at least about 10 mph. Noticeable wind lips on terrain features at different elevations we encountered on all aspects. Stayed by 5/10 minute trees and Austin Pass for the entirety.
