Quick report

Upper 5-10cm of storm snow is settling and gaining cohesion a bit more than snow below and feeling a little upside down. 20cm total storm snow observed at 4,500’. Otherwise strong and settled snowpack below the New Years crust.

Snowpack

N aspect, 4,500’, top of Snow Lake Divide on a partially exposed knoll: Upper snowpack Is 20cm of slightly upside down storm Snow, upper half is more cohesive and settling. New Years rain crust presenting a little differently as a thicker MFcr with a thin layer of preserved snow sandwiched between. 12/24 crust down about 50cm. Several Resistant results on small column tests immediately below 12/24. (See photo). Generally strong and settled snowpack comprised of 1F meltform grains and slightly harder MFcr mixed in.
