Quick report

Cracking
specific

Northeast winds at 10-15mph/gusts to 20. Transporting snow into atypical locations (south and west aspects) creating small and reactive slabs below ridgeline. Small wind slabs were resting on previously sun-crusted surfaces. Cracking under skis observed at those locations. Dry loose sloughing prevalent in terrain steeper than 40 degrees. Outside of wind slabs mentioned and light sloughing in steep terrain good general stability observed. Descended steep terrain on north and east aspects, good snow in sheltered terrain and melt-freeze crust could be felt as one dropped below 5,000'.
