Quick report

Skinned into Snowslide Canyon from the Lockett Meadow side of The Peaks. The primary reason was to get a profile of the crown/avalanche discovered on March 7.

At 2:30 PM, near 10,700' on a 22° southeasterly aspect, the top 2" of m/f was soaked/slush, and the rest of the snow was very wet down to ~6".  Boot penetration was about 6". On a more easterly slope that was a little lower angle, the snowpack was even more saturated with a boot penetration of about 10+", and some spots on this slope were unable to support a weighted ski. On the other side of the narrow canyon, shady northerly aspects still had some dry powder snow. We noticed no recent loose-wet avalanches.
