Quick report

- Observed
Dark and stormy weather on the Sierra Crest today with broken skies on HWY 395. Moderate sustained west wind with blowing snow reduced visibility and caused whiteout conditions at times. Wind chill brought temperatures down into the negatives. Lots of wind-blown snow was observed today all the way down to the valley floors. The wind was constant throughout the day and road-cut cornices made visible growth within a few hours. We did not travel in avalanche terrain.
