Red Flags Comment

Did not find many red flags during the day. Had two large, woopfing collapses late in the day walking the ridge line.

CT's and ECT's are taking more force to activate weak layers with the most prominent weak layer still being the interface between the basal facets and the rime crust. Tests from the areas we were in also reflected a weak layer about 6" above the rime crust (about 30 down) failing on 1mm faceted snow - CT22Q2 and ECTP Q2. On steep slopes there is potential for upper layers to release and step down to basal facets. Overall About 48" of snow in test pits. Seems like the snow pack is strengthening in the area traveled.
