- <p>New wet heavy dense snow 6 inches depth poorly bonded to old snow. We set off a few shears on the skin track above approximately 8,000 feet. We turned around after a large audible collapse at 8,400 that spread out 50 feet or more. Foggy in the morning and we were also concerned about rapid warming when the sun came out. We are thinking this poor snow structure and building slab will become more problematic this coming week with the storms.</p>
