Quick report

Visibility was generally good, though it was occasionally a bit gauzy as the air filled with small snow fragments. Huntington Ravine is now largely (and possibly entirely) refrozen following the warm-up on December 29 and the subsequent refreeze on December 30. Approximately 9 cm of snow that fell over the past 48 hours has been stripped away by extreme winds, which averaged around 90 mph on the summit yesterday. The only potential area of drifted snow we observed was below the ice in Central Gully, where it appeared wind-textured along the edges. If this pocket were to release, it would likely be a small avalanche, but with potentially severe consequences due to the exposed rocks below.
