Quick report

I took a look at the snow during a quick jaunt up to retrieve some instrumentation today. There was about 3 inches of fairly low density snow that didn't really change the overall stability much. In fact, the overall snow stability has increased since I was out on Wednesday. The basal facets have gained a little strength and have increased in hand hardness a bit. They are non-reactive in propagation tests in areas where I was able to get propagation on Wednesday. The Baldy shoulder was skied fairly heavily with no pockets releasing which is a tribute to the increase in stability.

We will continue to monitor the thin early season snowpack as to how the faceted grains metamorphose.
