Quick report

Went for a waddle near the southern tip of the advisory area:

  • No recent avalanches or obvious signs of instability
  • Spotty snow (0-4") at 5000'  becoming more continuous (2-6") at 6000'
  • Found a couple small and isolated patches 14" deep above 6500'
  • Surface conditions consisted of facets and surface hoar in sheltered areas and crust on sunny,  wind-exposed slopes
  • Mid-elevation snow in direct sunlight became moist during the afternoon

Inversion with cloud deck at ~4000-4500 feet. Temperature climbed above freezing at mid elevations.
