Quick report
We traveled between 7400ft and 12,200 ft. Solid refreeze overnight, smooth surfaces. There was about a 3cm thick melt/freeze crust with wintery snow beneath it on a low angle, NE facing slope from about 9800ft until about 10,400ft on a steeper slope where the snow became softer and more wintery. A high thin cloud layer kept surfaces relatively cool until late morning when the clouds moved out of the sun's way. We observed a wet loose avalanche at 1130am on a steep, rocky, East facing slope, and an old avalanche mentioned in a previous observation post. We saw evidence of wet loose avalanches from yesterday, and some other fresh piles of debris on the way down. Winds were mostly calm or light, with occasional periods of moderate wind up high. Up high we found great powder skiing on a North facing slope, then at around 11k ft it became firmer until we made our way onto a more solar slope that was softened by the sun and skied well. The snow was wetter and heavier down at around 9800ft but still skied well enough all the way back to our shoes at 7800ft.
