Quick report

Observed evidence of large natural cornice fall likely during heavy rain along with a runnel in the snowpack. Evidence from the previous overnight natural cycle were the only red flags we observed during our tour to Iceberg & Mazama Lakes. We started with a test slope, avoided convex rolls, terrain traps, and clean runouts. Observed the rain crust layer below the foot of new snow with variable firmness across the our tour. Brief breaks in clouds were enough to cook South aspects leaving more deteriorated skiing quality. With the rain, the boulder field (and lower mazama bowl) is still thin as well, and noted rock collision could result in a serious injury and rescue.
