Quick report

Cracking
isolated

7am 4-1-25 near the top of Trestle peak. It was snowing very hard and was very windy. Breaking trail penetration was about 8” with more than that of fresh snow. I was wrapping around the east facing panel breaking trail when I came to a wind loaded pocket. After a step forward a 40ft crack shot across the slope. The crack ended at a wind lip that failed and created a very small release. This was the only sign of instability.

Avalanche

40ft shooting crack to wind lip caused the wind lip to fail and a <D1 small avalanche. This was a wind loaded pocket. No signs of instability in non wind loaded areas.
