Quick report

A lot of weak snow and some frozen crusts. Good time to start looking at and inventorying weak surface snow types. None present, at this point it is about anticipating future red flags by looking at surface snow.

Clear cold day with only a light breeze at times.

Snowpack

Various types of weak surface snow and frozen crusts on solar aspects. Not enough warming to soften solar aspects. Areas that felt "slabby" a week ago are now much softer due to degrading of the wind crusts/slabs. Some wind transport over the last week, see photo below for deposits in old skin track (see photo below) Much scalloping of surface snow (see photo below). Surface facets are mostly in the sub 2mm range, no large surface hoar at this elevation. Some sluffing of weak surface snow in steeper areas, not enough to make me feel like i had to get out of the way. With all of the weak snow, I would expect a natural cycle if/when we get an actual load.
