Quick report
Fun, fluffy snow this morning. Lots of reactivity starting around 11am with avalanches breaking 1 - 3 feet deep naturally, remotely, and rider-triggered. The sun started coming out midmorning and solar quickly and significantly effected all aspects.
Avalanche
It was a reactive day! Avalanches observed: Avalanche #1: Natural D1.5 - 2 avalanche released below the cliffs on the NW aspect of table around 11:30am when solar started loading the snowpack. It ran ~200 feet, far enough to touch skier tracks on Iceberg Bowl. Avalanches 2&3: A group of skiers remote triggered two large D2 avalanches on steep, South facing slopes of Little Switzerland. Crowns looked to be about 2 - 3 feet deep. Avalanche 4: 2 snowboarders triggered two large D 2 avalanches on the steep trees below the grotto and above the common exit gut from Herman Saddle. Crowns looked to be 2 - 3 feet deep. Nobody was caught. Avalanche #5: Our party observed multiple D1 point release, wet loose avalanches in iceberg trees in the late morning. Some were natural while others were skier triggered.
