Quick report
Observations taken at 3500', due N aspect. Temp was 25 F, no wind, very light snow. Ski cut test on isolated 40-degree snow: was able to slide snow over crust, but it did not energize. Compression test (shown in picture): Collapsed after 4 arm strikes ~1m into snowpack, well into rounded snow. Collapse was not planar. Snowpack observation as follows: 195-220 Fist 194-195 Finger 125-194 4 Finger 124-125 Pencil 60-124 4 finger Evidence of wind transport beginning towards end of ski, with snow locally banking on east aspects. Within trees, lots of deep tree wells were present, plus thin cover over icy tree bombs was present in denser areas.
