Quick report

Cracking
specific

Left parking lot around 11:40am, beautiful day and not stormy at all as expected. Weather shifted between broken skies and great vis, flurries and some breezes, calm and overcast, and by around 3pm the vis had really diminished and it was probably "S2" snowing. The temps certainly felt like they dropped then, too. We took three laps northwest off Welldigger's and then our last lap was off the knob to its southwest. On the skin in, we found plenty of evidence of wind effect including some sizeable wind-lips that were fun to play on -- nothing propagated more than a few feet from ski tips. The wind hadn't been crazy up high though, the trees still had a good amount of snow in them and wind effect was quite localized, even on the burned ridge. Height of storm snow varied between 4-5" and 18-20" depending on wind effect and tree coverage. We skied mostly under 35* with some convexities but did have one sustained pitch or two of over 35* and other than sloughing, we did not trigger any slab avalanches. While we had a blast and multiple faceshots were had, it was a little dust on crust feeling... We'll take it!

Avalanche

Saw a few small wet loose avalanches on various aspects, probably from yesterday. Saw debris from older, larger avalanches on southwest and west aspects of Red (upper mountain).
