The biggest avalanche problem we observed today was wet loose on steep, solar aspects as temperatures warmed throughout the day. Numerous pinwheels, roller balls, and small slides observed along steep rode cuts.

Weather observation and snowpack assessment at 1130AM, with continued warming and more sun as the day went on.

Snowpack

The snowpack at this elevation and aspect was mostly a layer-cake of melt-freeze crusts, melt forms (upper), and rounding facets (lower), as observed up to 120 cm depth. HS 170 cm on a WSW aspect at 5565 ft elevation. CT10 RP ↓ 25 cm at the interface between decomposing fragments/melt forms (upper) and a melt freeze crust (lower) CT28 SP ↓ 55 cm and ECTN28 ↓ 55 cm at the interface between melt forms (upper) and a melt freeze crust (lower)
