Snow surfaces warmed and softened in the afternoon, but not enough for signs of wet instabilities to be seen. Surface penetration was limited to a few inches. Many slopes had highly variable surface penetration into the afternoon, with firm and soft experienced right next to each other. Hopefully this becomes more consistent as the melt/freeze cycles continue this week.
